Doris Ziegler

(* 1949 Weimar)

Doris Ziegler directly alienates and does not gloss over familiar life situations such as her own image as a mother, artistic existence, or human finitude in her visual language. Starting from the figure portrait, she develops a pictorial world that is soon dominated by architectural elements. In doing so, she turns the interior inside out and transfers the human aspect of her figure paintings to the medium of architecture. She succeeds in this translation in a subtle way and at the same time constitutes the field of tension of her works.
